The new OBS complex on Pulau Ubin
FACILITIES AT OBS
With the construction of the new OBS camp, participants can now make use of the brand-new facilities like the dormitories, meeting rooms and even a half-Olympic sized swimming pool for practicing kayaking.
On top of this, OBS sports a number of custom-built facilities that are used for leadership and team development activities. These include:
Indiana Multi-Element Challenge Course
A replica of the ship that brought Sir Stamford Raffles to Singapore in 1819, the 30 by 8 metre ship is used for traversing (walking across ropes), sail and flag setting, and climbing activities. It is used for group and individual activities.
Inverse Challenge Tower
This 'V' shaped tower features four faces which can be used simultaneously. It is particularly good for goal setting. Activities are paired-challenge activities.
Tripod Challenge Course
The Tripod Challenge has 9 low ropes, 9 mid-high ropes and 3 high rope courses. It provides a progressive introduction to height and helps to develop trust among team members in order to overcome their fears.
Internal and External Climbing wall
Both walls feature a combination of texture and fibre glass panels. At a height of 15 metres, the walls challenge participants to put in their best effort to rise to best height they are capable of achieving.
Internal Ropes Course
10 metres high and with 7 vertical challenge activities, this course helps develop good communication and coordination among participants.
Ubin Rescue Course
A series of 10-metre logs placed at interesting angles over 30 metres, this high impact activity course focuses on developing team dynamics. Leadership and planning skills are tested and strengthened through the activity.
